Shane Conlin has been on the robotics team for four years, and is the team’s Co-President. He is a part of the build and design sub-teams. Shane’s favorite part about robotics is working as a team to achieve a common, complex goal from scratch. He joined the robotics team to pursue his passion for engineering in a hands-on, collaborative way. Aside from robotics, Shane is also a part of the Math Honors Society, Science Honors Society, Latin Honors Society, National Honors Society, the Fed Challenge, and is a FIRST LEGO League mentor. His hobbies include 3D modeling, 3D printing and community service volunteering. After graduating from AHS, Shane plans on working in the Mechanical Engineering field.
Brandon Diaz
Brandon Diaz has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the design sub-team. In terms of building the robot, Brandon’s favorite part of the robotics team has to be designing the robot and coming up with strategies that will allow the team to succeed. However, in terms of FIRST as a whole, it has to be the people you meet and the friends you make throughout your time with the team. He joined the robotics team because he wasn’t sure what he wanted to pursue in life and robotics was one of the first things that tipped his interest. Brandon is also a part of Soccer and the Tennis Team. Outside of robotics, his hobbies include the Boy Scouts, working out, and playing video games. After graduating from AHS, Brandon plans on attending a four-year university to study engineering.
Melissa Domen
Melissa Domen has been on the robotics team for four years, and is the team’s Business Team Leader and founder of our FIRST LEGO League robotics teams. She has been a FIRST LEGO League mentor for four years, coaching three teams this season! Melissa’s favorite part about robotics is celebrating our accomplishments at the competitions. She joined the robotics team to gain experience in the world of business. Outside of robotics, Melissa is involved in: Varsity Girls Golf, Girl Scouts, Nutshell (school newspaper), Yearbook, Jazz Band, National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, History Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society. Her hobbies include jamming on the piano and painting. After graduating from AHS, Melissa plans to study business at college. Daniel Moehringer
Daniel Moehringer has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the design sub-team. Daniel’s favorite part about robotics is going to competitions, he looks forward to seeing the team’s hard work pay off. He joined the robotics team in order to fulfill his interest in robotics, and be involved in an activity that involves lots of teamwork and collaboration. He is also a part of Cross Country and Travel Basketball. His hobbies include playing basketball and traveling. After graduating from AHS, Daniel plans on going to college.
Jacob Normand
Jacob Normand has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the electrical sub-team. Jacob’s favorite part of being on the team is being able to collaboratively work on a project, seeing the resulting success (or failure), and learning from the results. He joined the robotics team to learn not only engineering skills, but also how teams can effectively utilize the engineering process. Aside from robotics, Jacob is a part of Tennis, Class Activities, Academic Team, National Honors Society, Math Honors Society, Science Honors Society, English Honors Society, History Honors Society, and Spanish Honors Society. He enjoys going camping and doing just about anything outdoors. After graduating from AHS, Jacob plans on attending college and studying Mechanical Engineering.
Daniel Roche
Daniel Roche has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the design sub-team. His favorite thing about robotics is participating in teamwork and expanding team building. Daniel joined the team in order to satisfy and expand his passion for engineering. Aside from robotics, he is a part of National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, History Honor Society, Math Honor Society, the school yearbook, the Academic Team, and Peer Leaders. Daniel’s hobbies include playing basketball and sports, hanging out with friends, and gaming. After graduating from AHS, Daniel plans on attending college and majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
John Roy
John Roy has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the programming sub-team. His favorite part about robotics is sampling all the aspects of build and machining. John joined the team because he thought it would be fun. His hobbies include gaming. After graduating from AHS, John plans on attending college.
Louis Sandor
Louis has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the build sub-team. His favorite part about robotics is seeing what our team accomplishes at the end of the season and seeing how well we compete. Louis joined the team because the idea of building a cool looking robot intrigued him. He is also a part of National Honor Society. His hobbies include skiing. After graduating from AHS, Louis plans on going to college and getting a degree in either biomedical or mechanical engineering.
Benedetto Sclafani
Benedetto has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the build sub-team. His favorite part about robotics is the building aspect and how he can communicate with others in order to make such an amazing robot. Benedetto joined the team because he wanted to improve on his interest in mechanical engineering. Aside from robotics, he is also a part of lacrosse. His hobbies include building things in his free time and playing lacrosse. After graduating from AHS, Benedetto plans on going to college and getting a job.
Drew Warfel
Drew has been on the robotics team for four years, and is a part of the build sub-team.
His favorite part about robotics is working together as a team to solve and overcome mechanical problems. Drew joined the team to learn new skills hands on, and to use those skills to develop my mechanical knowledge. Aside from robotics, he is a part of the AHS Tennis team, Math Honor Society, Science Honor Society, History Honor Society, and English Honor Society. His hobbies include playing tennis and hanging out with friends. After graduating from AHS, Drew plans on majoring in Government and going to law school in the hopes of becoming a lawyer.
